Amy Melissa Chua (Jollibee Group Foundation), Larry Lacson (NFA), Mary Jean Pacheco (DTI), and Arturo “Archie” Yan (AC Logistics) discuss how resilient supply chains, cold chain infrastructure, and public-private collaboration can help strengthen food security across Southeast Asia during the ASEAN Food Security and Agribusiness Summit 2026 on October 10, 2026, at LANDBANK Plaza, Malate, Manila.

Food security is not only about producing more food. It is about ensuring that food reaches people safely, efficiently, and with its quality and value preserved.

This was the message shared by Arturo “Archie” Yan, Product Head and President of Cold Chain Solutions of AC Logistics, during the ASEAN Food Security and Agribusiness Summit 2026 last October 10, where government and industry leaders gathered to discuss strategies for strengthening food systems across Southeast Asia.

Speaking at the panel session Resilient Supply Chains, Logistics, and Food Bank, Yan highlighted how resilient logistics networks and integrated cold chain infrastructure can help address one of the region’s most pressing challenges: reducing post-harvest losses while ensuring a reliable food supply.

Preserving the Value of Every Harvest

Across the Philippines and Southeast Asia, food often travels hundreds of kilometers before reaching processors, retailers, and consumers. During this journey, gaps in storage, transportation, and distribution can impact product quality and value.

According to AC Logistics, preserving food quality from harvest to consumption requires a connected ecosystem that integrates cold storage, transportation, inventory visibility, and distribution planning into a seamless supply chain solution.

“A truly resilient supply chain is one that preserves value from harvest all the way to consumption,” Yan shared during the discussion.

Building Cold Chain Infrastructure at Scale

Through Glacier Megafridge, AC Logistics has developed an integrated cold chain network comprising close to 75,000 pallet positions and more than 1,000 temperature-controlled vehicles strategically positioned near production areas, ports, and major consumption centers.

The network supports a wide range of industries, including agriculture, fisheries, food manufacturing, retail, distribution, and exports, helping businesses maintain product integrity throughout the supply chain.

Beyond storage, AC Logistics provides end-to-end cold chain solutions that support transportation, inventory management, distribution planning, and supply chain visibility, helping customers improve efficiency, reduce spoilage, and optimize product flow from origin to market.

Connecting Producers to Markets

AC Logistics continues to strengthen cold chain corridors that connect food producers to processors, distributors, retailers, and consumers across the country.

Through Glacier Megafridge’s network of facilities in Parañaque, Taguig, Pulilan, Balagtas, Legazpi, Samar, Panay, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and Zamboanga, the company supports the movement of temperature-sensitive products across key agricultural, fisheries, and consumption hubs.

In Mindanao, AC Logistics is helping connect agricultural and fisheries corridors in Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, and the Zamboanga Peninsula to cold storage, processing, and distribution hubs in Davao and General Santos through an integrated cold chain approach. Combined with infrastructure developments such as the Strong Republic Nautical Highway, these connections help improve market access, reduce spoilage, and enable the more efficient movement of perishable goods across regions.

By strategically locating cold storage facilities near production zones, ports, and major demand centers, AC Logistics helps customers build more resilient supply chains while preserving product quality from source to market.

Strengthening Food Systems Through Collaboration

The summit also brought together leaders from government and industry, including representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry and the National Food Authority, reflecting the importance of collaboration in building stronger and more resilient food systems.

For AC Logistics, strengthening food security requires more than infrastructure alone. It requires strong partnerships, connected supply chains, and a shared commitment to preserving the value created by every harvest.

Through investments in cold chain infrastructure and integrated logistics solutions, AC Logistics continues to help food producers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and exporters reduce waste, maintain product quality, and ensure that more food reaches markets and communities across the Philippines and the region.
